El Greco came to us unexpected so that we could reinterpret and offer his body of work to a younger audience.

The questions that come up point out various directions: Aren’t the Impressionists indebted to El Greco? Is perhaps Picsasso’s Cubism a trace of the power of the Greek painter? What does El Greco have to do with Jackson Pollock and his Abstract Expressionism? How intriguing!

Aracaladanza is faced with its most difficult challenge, yet. That of moving beyond its highly regarded reputation and into the uncharted waters of this new production. We do have time, as this dream won’t come to life until 2014.
